BREAST HEALTH
> DUCTOGRAM
A ductogram is performed to determine the cause of a
discharge from the nipple.
How is it done?
Dr. Bertrand places a small canula, or tube, in the nipple
duct that is the source of the discharge. She then injects X-ray contrast and a
mammogram is performed. This shows the ducts of the breast and helps to
pinpoint the cause of the discharge.
Do I need to do anything
special before having this procedure?
No.
When will I get the results?
Usually that same day.
